Effects of potato (<i>Solanum tuberosum</i> L.)–<i>Mucuna pruriens</i> intercropping pattern on the agronomic performances of potato and the soil physicochemical properties of the western highlands of Cameroon

Abstract A field experiment was conducted at the teaching and research farm of Faculty Agronomy Agricultural Sciences University Dschang to investigate effects potato– Mucuna intercropping pattern on agronomic performances potatoes soil physicochemical properties in western highlands Cameroon. The design a randomized complete block with three replications. treatments included pure potato stand (T1), (T2), 1:1 (T3), 1:2 (T4), 2:1 (T5) patterns. results revealed that patterns had no significant effect ( P &gt; 0.05) growth variables, physical properties, relative crowding coefficient. highest yield (24,913 kg ha −1 ) equivalent (81,513 were obtained from pattern. total LER (2.17) lowest (1.38) patterns, respectively. Area time ratio values greater than 1 (1.46) (1.29) proved be most aggressive competitive species according Ap except for K indicating advantage all gave best C/N (13.94) cation exchange capacity (36.12 meq 100 g ), Late blight incidence (16.88%) sole crop (8.05%) Therefore, based findings this experiment, or could recommended system.
